The entire country looks toward arizona to see the unusual!!!
Other states wish they had some of the amazing scenery that belongs to this great state. The Grand Canyon, the Painted Desert, the Petrified Forest, the Chiricahua National Monument, the Sonoran Desert Museum, Monument Valley, Kartchner Caverns, Mount Lemon, Mount Graham, Greer's Nature Trail, Meteor Crater, even ghost towns and open pit mines, are only just a few of the most interesting parts of Arizona. Less appreciated areas are:
the Colorado River with its rafting, Madera Canyon hiking trails, the great Organ Pipe National Forest, London Bridge, Hoover Dam, the challenging Echo Canyon on the Camelback Mountains in Phoenix, Catalina State Park in Tucson, the very mysterious Superstition Mountains near Mesa, mineral treasures like gold and silver, the fun spots like Oak Creek Canyon and Slide Rock near Sedona, Yuma near the sand dunes, Scottsdale tourist centers, Flagstaff, Prescott, Phoenix, Nogales, and Tucson.
Besides all these amazing choices, the plants of Arizona are well known for their uniqueness. There are many varieties of large cactus. But arizona is not the desert that the movies show. It is so beautiful in the normal spring times, that the hills are covered with blue lupines, yellow brittle bushes, and masses of other plants. The Yellow Palo Verde trees also cover enormous areas of the open deserts like ocean waves of beautiful yellow flowers. Only the summer heat kills off the beauty in the low deserts.
Still, Arizona is alive with mountain plants to rival many other states: Blue Spruce and Ponderosa Pine and firs and many White Aspen trees. Greer, Arizona is a botanical paradise. Its not all baren desert with scattered cactus and sand dunes.
